Required Documents

Here is a general list of what you can expect to provide during the mortgage application process.   Having these documents ready can significantly streamline the mortgage process and increase the chances of a smooth loan approval.



All Loans

  • Government-issued photo ID - a driver's license or passport. 
  •  Social Security number (card may be needed for some loans)
  • Pay stubs from the past 30 days
  • W-2s from the past 2 years
  • Personal tax returns from the past 2 years
  • Bank statements from the past 2 months - checking, savings, investment, and retirement accounts.
  • Documentation of other income sources (e.g., alimony, child support, rental income)

For a Home Purchase

If the you have already selected a property:

  • A copy of the signed purchase agreement
  • Homeowner’s insurance quote
  • Contact information for the real estate agent

For a Refinance

  • A current mortgage statement
  • Homeowners insurance declarations page
  • Property tax bill from the most recent year
  • Prior owners title policy

VA Loans

  • DD Form 214
  • If active duty, most recent 2 Military Leave and Earning Statements (LES)

Self Employed

    • Business Tax Returns if the borrower owns a corporation, partnership, or LLC: Form 1120 or 1120S for corporations, Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) for partnerships and S-corporations.
    • A year-to-date profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
    • A copy of the current business license (if applicable)
